A client of ours at Robert Half is looking for an IT Director to join their team based in Seattle, Washington (on-site position). Your role will involve managing all facets of our IT staff, organization, and vendors in their industry. Your extensive experience in leadership and knowledge of HIPAA compliance will be crucial in this position.


Hands on vs Leadership responsibilities: The client is looking for somebody that is spending a good amount of their time being strategic and working with the CIO to plan and strategize to make sure things are running well. At the most. the hands-on vs. leadership duties will be 50/50 max, but more likely 70/30 leadership focused. They really need someone who can focus on maintaining governance infrastructure, building out strong policies, procedures, and vendor management.


Ability for growth?: There is potential to move up into a CIO position. There is also a higher Director level role in between this position and CIO this person could grow into in the shorter term.


Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of IT staff and organization

• Handle all vendor relationships and negotiations effectively

• Ensure understanding and compliance with HIPAA regulatory requirements

• Work within a Windows operating system environment, including hybrid cloud, O365, Azure

• Negotiate complex IT-related contracts and pricing terms with vendors

• Leverage your knowledge of LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches

• Apply your working knowledge of server virtualization, Windows Server, AD, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, O365, Azure

• Utilize your leadership skills to drive the IT department's goals and objectives

• Use your technology management skills to ensure all systems are running efficiently and securely.


Must haves:

  • Ideally around roughly 15 years in a leadership position (combination of Manager/Director level depending on their responsibilities)
  • Experience managing all aspects of an IT staff, organization, and vendors
  • Working knowledge of understanding of HIPAA compliance and meeting regulatory requirements (can be flexible but highly preferred)
  • Primarily a Windows house - hybrid cloud, O365, Azure


Nice to haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related
  • Proven experience negotiating complex IT-related contracts and pricing terms
  • Solid experience or knowledge of with LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Working knowledge of server virtualization, Windows Server, AD, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, O365, Azure
