About The Role

You will join our team to build and lead our UL 891 low-voltage switchboard shop in Houston, Texas. Your role will be a hands-on leadership position overseeing all aspects of the switchboard shop. This includes building and managing a team, navigating UL certification requirements, ensuring a safe and professional work environment, and overseeing quality assurance. Your technical low-voltage switchboard expertise will be critical to your success. You will collaborate closely with Giga Energy's customer service, operations, and sales team while you manage the shop facility and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a team of technicians and engineers to staff the new switchboard shop
  • Navigate and ensure compliance with UL 891 certification standards and requirements
  • Oversee switchboard testing, inspection, and quality assurance processes
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and organized shop environment adhering to all safety protocols
  • Interface and coordinate with internal support teams including finance, customer service, operations, and sales
  • Continually evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery schedules
  • Provide technical guidance and training to shop staff as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in switchboard design, manufacturing, and testing
  • Prior experience leading and managing a team in a manufacturing environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of UL 891 standards and certification process
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot issues
  • Proficiency with switchboard manufacturing software and technology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills
  • Customer-centric attitude & cheerful disposition
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented individual
  • BS or MS in engineering, and/or evidence of exceptional experience
  • Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing work assignments in a fast paced work environment
  • Enthusiasm for the bitcoin or energy industry and/or experience working at a startup preferred
  • Can-do attitude and a strong sense of urgency
