Our client is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their finance team. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in analyzing and monitoring expenses to ensure optimal financial efficiency. Ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting cost data to help management make informed decisions regarding pricing strategies, budget allocations, and cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses. Identify cost drivers and variations, and provide insights to improve cost-effectiveness.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts by providing accurate cost data and insights. Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and provide variance analysis.

3. Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory control teams to ensure accurate valuation of inventory. Conduct regular inventory reconciliations and identify opportunities for inventory optimization.

4. Product Costing: Determine the cost of goods sold (COGS) for various products or services offered by the company. Analyze profitability by product line and provide recommendations for pricing adjustments as needed.

5. Cost Reporting: Prepare and distribute timely and accurate cost reports to stakeholders, including management, department heads, and external auditors. Communicate cost trends, risks, and opportunities to relevant parties.

6. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate existing cost accounting processes and systems to identify areas for improvement. Propose and implement process enhancements to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. Assist in audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations related to cost accounting practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

- Proven experience in cost accounting or related financial analysis roles.

- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
