Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with expertise in ground up tilt-up warehouse projects to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project life cycle, from initial conception to successful completion.


Experience working on ground up tilt-up projects in California is a mandatory to be considered for this role. One must be familiar with the methodologies, structural engineering, and project management. Additionally, this person will need to have experience working for a general contractor.


Responsibilities


Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Lead the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets for ground up tilt-up warehouse projects.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct thorough site assessments and feasibility studies.


Engineering Expertise:

  • Provide technical expertise in tilt-up construction methods and structural engineering.
  • Collaborate with the design team to optimize structural solutions and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications.


Construction Oversight:

  • Supervise and manage construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors to coordinate construction processes and resolve any engineering or construction-related issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety standards.


Cost Control and Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking costs and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with contractors to implement effective cost control measures and ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.


Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and project staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with general contractors to streamline project workflows.


Client Interaction:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Work closely with general contractors to ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations.


Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance processes to guarantee the highest standards in design, construction, and project delivery.
  • Collaborate with general contractors to conduct regular quality inspections and address potential issues.


General Contractor Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to procure materials and services.
  • Manage overall project logistics, including scheduling, resource allocation, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement safety protocols on-site.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related construction field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing ground-up tilt-up warehouse projects from conception to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of tilt-up construction methods, structural engineering principles, and relevant building codes.
  • Experience with cost management, procurement, RFIs, submittals, etc.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
