Key Responsibilities:

  • Review shipping schedules and prioritize daily work assignments to meet production goals.
  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments to meet accuracy, quality, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate space requirements for shipments and ensure proper loading and storage.
  • Ensure shipments comply with state regulations regarding load limits and safety.
  • Inspect material handling equipment and coordinate repairs as needed to maintain efficiency.
  • Managed vehicle maintenance reports and kept up-to-date records of shipments and unfilled orders.
  • Prepare bills of lading and post weight and shipping charges to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Lead and train your team, promoting a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in shipping, especially with dated and perishable products.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and having experience in production is a plus.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including routes and rates.
  • Familiarity with handling multiple SKUs and frozen/refrigerated products is preferred.
  • HACCP certification is a bonus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • In the absence of the Shipping and Receiving Manager, supervisors will take responsibility for ensuring food safety practices.
