JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supporting employee relations, recruitment, compliance, benefits & leave administration, training & development, and labor relations. The HR Manager will work closely with Central Coast Cooling (CCC) leadership to ensure a positive and productive work environment is realized by all employees. The CCC Human Resources Manager is a key role and member of the CCC leadership team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete the full recruitment lifecycle, including job posting, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding for new hires.
  • Manage employee relations, including handling inquiries, resolving minor workplace conflicts, and make recommendations for administering disciplinary actions.
  • Manage leave administration including FMLA, STD, LTD, and Personal LOA.
  • Benefits administration ensuring accuracy and compliance. Also, answer benefits questions, and manage site annual open enrollment process.
  • Manage the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 856.
  • Assist with employee training and development initiatives.
  • Maintain and update polices on all HR laws (including California) and regulations and ensure company compliance.
  • Maintains accurate employee records and manages updates to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage OSHA site compliance and Industrial Safety initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
  • Possess a strong Emotional I.Q. (“E.Q.”) – you work well with many different personality types and can support both a union workforce and a leadership team.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

 

 KEY DELIVERABLES:

·       Management of the CBA with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 856. Correctly, interpreting the language to ensure a positive labor relations environment is maintained.

·       Ensure adherence to wage and hour laws, compliance requirements and union agreement requirements and any union grievances.

·       Provide training and development programs for Front line supervisors and managers.

·       Identity and drive process and cycle time improvements in the CCC HR function.

·       Lead employee relation initiatives by establishing an HR presence in operational areas.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

·       Minimum of 4 years as an HR Specialist, or HR Generalist.

·       Minimum 2 years previous experience in Labor Relations (direct interactions with Trade Union).

·       Previous experience in recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and ADP payroll required.

·       Previous experience and understanding of OSHA guidelines and industrial safety compliance.

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

·       Strong teamwork, communication, self-motivation, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP certification highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

·       Excellent computer skills expert experience using Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Monday.com

  • This position may require up to 20% travel.
