Job Description:

Join our Creative team at Likely Inc. as a Packaging Technical Designer, where you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our packaging and production outputs. We're seeking a candidate deeply passionate about the technical aspects of packaging design, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to adhering strictly to style guides. Demonstrated expertise in creating dielines, knowledge of different packaging materials and finishes, and precision in targeting design specifications are essential for ensuring the highest quality in all print materials. Reporting to our Lead Designer and collaborating closely with other graphic designers, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creative vision of our team while thriving in a fast-paced environment.


This position offers full-time employment and welcomes applicants residing in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop 2D/3D print and packaging collateral with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring projects meet deadlines and design specifications.
  • Create accurate dielines from scratch when required for specific projects.
  • Maintain and advance design standards across all packaging collateral, defining and upholding packaging standards including logo sizing, spacing, typography, and color.
  • Oversee the execution of different finishes, such as embossing, gold foil, and spot colors, to enhance packaging aesthetics, ensuring color accuracy, resolution, and compatibility with various printing processes.
  • Handle imagery with expert cropping and retouching skills to guarantee high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical guidance throughout the design process.
  • Liaise with vendors to streamline production processes and ensure top-quality printing.
  • Manage the routing and updating of artwork, resolving quality issues in printing through meticulous assessments.
  • Convert conceptual directions into tangible, printable results in both 2D and 3D formats.
  • Work closely with the Product Development Production team.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of production experience in typesetting, packaging design and product packaging.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Thorough understanding of CMYK and spot color systems, as well as pre-press and digital production processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic, problem-solving approach, adaptability to changing priorities, and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Previous experience in consumer product brands or packaging design agencies is preferred.
