Are you passionate about transforming complex technical information into clear and concise documentation? We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Milwaukee, WI, for a 6-month contract opportunity. As a Technical Writer, you will play a pivotal role in developing comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards and effectively communicates with our target audience of capital engineers, continuous improvement specialists, and process engineers.


Job Opportunity: Technical Writer (6-Month Contract)

Location: Milwaukee, WI (Virtual Interviews)

Duration: 6 months

Pay Rate: $30-$31.20/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with some flexibility)


Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards and effectively communicates complex product information.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate technical details into user-friendly content.
  • Write engaging content tailored to the needs of our target audience, setting them up for success.
  • Develop and maintain detailed databases of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications.
  • Create documents for engineers regarding equipment utilization, sizing, and installation procedures.
  • Provide diagrams, pictures, drawings, and detailed descriptions of key operating conditions and deliverables.
  • Develop troubleshooting methods and theoretical background information related to equipment operation.
  • Collaborate with onsite engineers to ensure accurate and effective documentation.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience writing technical documentation for a high-level technical audience.
  • Ability to work onsite in Milwaukee, WI, to interact with engineers and gather necessary information.
  • Familiarity with terms such as pressure, flow rates, capacity, and other technical concepts.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
