The Investment Analyst is responsible for reviewing annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements for registered investment companies, with a focus on accuracy and diligent review. This individual will collaborate with senior team members and managers to oversee fund financial information and handle various projects as directed by the Financial Administration Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Review: Conduct thorough reviews of annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements. Maintain timetables for these statements.
  • Expense Management: Review fund expense proformas, expenses, and accruals. Coordinate any necessary adjustments with clients and the financial reporting team, and authorize fund invoices.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Assist in the preparation of board books and procedure manuals, and report performance data to fund management and industry publications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with laws and regulations such as the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Internal Revenue Code, GAAP, and Regulation S-X. Stay informed about regulatory changes affecting funds.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain communication with the Financial Reporting Team Leader and other team members regarding workflow and deadlines.
  • Mentorship: Support junior-level staff by reviewing their work and contributing to the development of the Financial Administration Group.
  • Systems Enhancement: Propose improvements to BBH’s Fund Accounting system (Eagle/OMEGA) for enhanced financial reporting and compliance.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned by the Financial Reporting Supervisor or Team Leader.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BA/BS degree, preferably in a business-related field.
  • Skills:
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven, client-focused environment.
