Director of Training and Development

The Director of Training and Development is responsible for the overall strategic development and execution of all training programs and initiatives. This person will build a training department, oversee design and documentation of curriculum, evaluate onboarding, team member development, and ongoing education across the organization, building and fostering collaborative relationships with all departments within the organization.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of training programs designed to support organizational strategic plans and objectives
  • Partner with the business to ensure all managers understand the culture, quality standards, product, operating systems, and procedures to carry out daily tasks
  • Remain current on mortgage industry trends and programs which will increase understanding and overall competitive ability
  • Actively contribute toward creating an enjoyable work environment
  • Support the introduction of new products, procedures, marketing initiatives, training development, equipment, and any other training/certification programs
  • Partner with other departments to establish effective training programs
  • Develop a system where the company can monitor training programs and individual development
  • Partner with the business to develop a career roadmap for internal growth, retention, and pipeline
  • Establish a budget for the training department and monitor the department's effectiveness and efficiencies

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently working in mortgage
  • In-depth knowledge of instructional design and development processes
  • Knowledge of methods for workplace learning
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles
  • Experience with project management and development of project plans
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be comfortable with basic budgetary principles
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Must be able to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Skilled in MS Office, especially MS Word and PowerPoint


Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in training and development or comparable field of study. A minimum of three years of recently demonstrated success in curriculum development and training assessments, in the mortgage industry.
