Position Overview:

Are you ready to lead a team of forward-thinkers and innovators in the renewable energy sector? We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will apply your expertise to continually grow our engineering team while guiding their professional development. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our team maintains the highest standards of competency, quality, efficiency, and excellence.


As a senior design engineer, you will be at the helm, overseeing the leading-edge design, engineering, permitting, and interconnection of complex renewable energy projects. Your work will directly contribute to the transformation of how the world harnesses clean energy.

Partnering closely with our development team, you will collaborate with clients to deeply understand their unique needs, working hand-in-hand to craft and deliver the best solutions that meet their requirements.


You won't be just an employee; you'll be a crucial part of the management team, actively participating in the continuous improvement of company standards, policies, processes, and culture.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team to meet and exceed deliverables and deadline requirements.
  • Be the driving force behind hiring, coaching, goal setting, accountability, and workload management.
  • Nurture and mentor junior engineers as they grow within our organization.
  • Oversee and elevate design standards for both Commercial and Residential PV and Energy Storage Systems.
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with the National Electrical Code and all relevant regulations.
  • Utilize your expertise to interpret engineered plan sets, including electrical diagrams, panel schedules, connection diagrams, structural diagrams, architectural plans, and more.
  • Review and provide expert insights on design details across a wide array of complex projects.
  • Collaborate closely with our business development team, offering your technical prowess during project development phases, leveraging your knowledge of local building codes, fire codes, and electrical codes.
  • Conduct site assessments and engineering audits, ensuring projects are on the path to success.
  • Champion coordination and collaboration with internal and external project teams, AHJs, and utilities, supporting our commitment to meeting project goals.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of projects and responsibilities, all while showcasing your excellent communication skills.
  • Dedicate yourself to continuous education, staying at the forefront of new building codes, emerging equipment, and industry developments.


Requirements:

  • Possess an Electrical PE License. (CA)
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field.
  • Bring to the table 4+ years of experience in photovoltaic systems and energy storage solutions.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of local building codes, fire codes, electrical codes, and other regulations crucial to our business endeavors.
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Communicate effectively through both written and verbal channels.
  • Display strong computer and internet research skills, with a high level of proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Feel comfortable working independently and seamlessly across multiple levels and teams within our dynamic organization.
