We have an immediate opening for an Environmental Planner or Associate Environmental Planner in our Folsom office with a desire to be part of a close-knit and driven multidisciplinary environmental team. This individual will prepare and lead environmental planning related tasks. Dokken has provided environmental services for 20 years. We deliver innovative environmental solutions for local, state, and federally funded public works projects. Our core focus is infrastructure: roadways, bridges, highways and interchanges, water/irrigation facilities, bicycle and pedestrian paths, dams, and other public facility projects. In this role, a successful applicant should have abilities related to planning and environmental approvals under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Clean Water Act, State and Federal Endangered Species Acts, and other applicable environmental laws and regulations. This position involves preparing and reviewing a variety of environmental technical studies (including those related to air quality, noise, visual, water quality, etc.), preparing regulatory permit applications, securing permits and approvals from various agencies, and assisting with the implementation of environmental commitments. In this position, your responsibilities will include coordinating with Dokken’s environmental and engineering teams, agencies, and clients. Understanding CEQA/NEPA compliance in relation to transportation planning for roads and bridges is a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum of BA or BS in environmental studies/science or related field.
• Applicants should have approximately 2+ years of related experience, preferably in California; private environmental consulting firm experience is a plus.
• Candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Federal and California environmental laws (i.e., CEQA and NEPA).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Previous experience with environmental studies is required.
• Ability to travel as projects require.

FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Compensation: Annual Salary ranges from $ 70,000.00 to 150,000.00. DOE
Location: In-person at the Folsom HQ office or in-person at the San Diego office. Periodic travel through the State will be required.
