Senior Financial Analyst- Healthcare

About the Opportunity:
Our client in the healthcare industry is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their San Diego-based team. The Senior Financial Analyst will enhance company operations and the Finance department by preparing monthly physician payroll, physician productivity, and analysis of financial performance. The Senior Financial Analyst will also be a consultant and trainer for education of physicians and management staff in developing and operating capital budgets and monitoring financial performance.
Salary: $45.00-$59.00 hourly
Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Orchestrates the preparation and consolidation of departmental operating and capital budgets in line with the budget calendar.
- Facilitates the development and delivery of educational sessions for hospital staff to aid in crafting department budgets.
- Maintains proficiency in requisite software applications for budget development and conducts training for departmental staff.
- Assists Finance Supervisor & Chief Financial Officer in scrutinizing financial data by department, service line, and procedure.
- Aids in conducting capacity, staffing, and RVU analysis for physicians and mid-level providers and offers recommendations.
- Prepares and evaluates monthly expense variance reports, financial projections, revenue analysis reports, and various monthly management and operational reports. Assists managers in achieving budgetary objectives.
- Contributes to process enhancement, business development, and improved decision-making by furnishing fiscal impact data, identifying financial opportunities, and assessing the impacts of change.
- Analysis is necessary for assessing current providers, potential additions, existing programs and services, new business prospects, strategic business plan initiatives, and payer contracts.
- Investigates and addresses issues or queries raised by physicians or management regarding their departments or clinical operations.
- Monitors departmental financial and productivity performance, assisting physicians and managers in meeting budgetary targets amidst volume fluctuations.
- Coordinates accurate and timely preparation of quarterly Physician Panel reports.
- Oversees the accurate preparation of Physicians' Payroll.
- Coordinates the preparation of various financial, statistical, and operational reports, utilizing information for analysis of departmental and medical group financial performance.
- Provides support for additional special projects.
Qualifications:
- 3 Years’ experience in accounting or finance with at least two years in the healthcare industry.
- Budgeting, analysis, and financial applications experience.
