The Assembly and Packing Supervisor oversees the day to day operations of the department.  The objective is to direct activities in order to meet customer expectations of quality and delivery in the most cost effective manner possible. The right candidate will have a drive towards continuous improvement and understands the importance of collaboration with the other departments.  


Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises the day to day duties and job functions of the department.
  • Ensures team produces finished goods to consistently meet quality, delivery and cost objectives.
  • Helps drive process improvements in the department.
  • Documents SOP’s to ensure standardization of workflow.
  • Compiles and analyzes production data for formal and informal team meetings.
  • General supervisory tasks of time card approval, vacation approvals, and annual performance reviews.
  • Works with HR to document and resolve escalated worker grievances.
  • Occasionally works on Saturdays during peak production times.(2nd and 4th Quarters)
  • Assists with special projects as requested.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience 
  • 5+ years of related experience in a small to medium-sized manufacturing company with short lead times
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts including 5S and Waste Elimination
  • Experience in a Union production/manufacturing environment preferred but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish). Highly Preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The physical requirements of the job are of a moderate nature. Walking, crouching, standing, sitting and some lifting, twisting, bending is required. This is not a sedentary role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
