Why This Role?

We are currently looking out for a "Design Engineer" to support one of our clients who is a global technology leader that is advancing a sustainable energy future for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation, and service while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, Bill of Materials, and other pertinent information.
  • Prepare specifications and related documents according to requirements, established formats, and general instructions. Review and analyze various engineering data, documents, and reports.
  • Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions as appropriate.
  • Investigate technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
  • General concentration of activities by allocating close to 40% of the time to customer focus and commercial orders, about 30% to product care, and 30% to operational troubleshooting and field support.
  • Assist senior Engineers in preparing drawings/specifications, material and design selection, quotations, licensing and safety documents, and obtaining required approvals.
  • Using state-of-the-art CAD, develop 2-D and 3-D models of components and assemblies for prototype, production, and retrofit builds as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance.
  • Ability to learn basic numerical tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering or related field and 2 to 5 or more years of experience; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Working experience with Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling software is highly desired.
  • Working experience with Windchill data management or any PLM software is highly desired.
  • Preferably, should have some experience developing electromechanical products (preferably with power transformer components), which is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, engineering principles, and best practices.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for us in the United States.
