JOB SUMMARY FOR PROJECT MANAGER:


  • This position involves developing, executing, and managing IT projects within a defined scope, working closely with business and IT management to establish project goals, objectives, and deliverables using waterfall program support methodology. The role includes assessing changes to scope, issues, and risks, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with corporate and divisional policies.



RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PROJECT MANAGER:


  • This position will develop, execute and manage IT projects within the defined scope.
  • Works with business and IT management to establish project goals, objectives and deliverables using Waterfall program support
  • Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with department, management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution.
  • Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
  • Develops and executes a work plan obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed.
  • Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team and Department manager.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • At the department level or provides assistance to Program or Project managers on phases of a larger project.
  • Make decisions that impact project level activities. Influence project level budget.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR PROJECT MANAGER:


  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • At least 3 yrs. experience in project management, business systems analysis, or software development.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROJECT MANAGER:


  • Project Management: Strong ability to develop, execute, and manage IT projects within a defined scope, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Waterfall Program support: Waterfall experience preferred, some years of scrum okay, but need PM and waterfall experience
  • Business Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing business systems and establishing project goals, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with business and IT management.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Expertise in assessing the impact of changes to scope, issues, and risks on projects, and working with stakeholders to gain agreement for resolution.
  • Performance Measurement: Capability to measure project performance and ensure it is progressing according to the original plan and budget.
  • Resource Coordination: Skill in coordinating resources, effectively assigning tasks and deliverables based on team members’ abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for producing project reports, providing timely and accurate project status, and decision support information to the Project Team and Department manager.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of corporate and divisional policies and procedures, ensuring all project activities adhere to them.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make decisions impacting project-level activities and influence the project budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in gathering lessons learned and obtaining final project approval from sponsors and stakeholders.
