About Us:

Primitive Precision is a family owned custom metal fabrication shop known for producing high-quality and precision-engineered structural and architectural metalwork tailored to our clients' desired specifications. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson who specializes in detailing shop drawings to join our dynamic team.


Position Summary:

As a Draftsperson you will work closely with our lead designer and fabrication team to create shop drawings that are efficient and easy to read. 


Key Responsibilities:

- Create precise and comprehensive shop drawings for our fabricators.

- Collaborate with the team to gather field measurements at various install locations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the drawings.

- Interpret and implement design concepts, sketches, and markups into detailed and dimensioned shop drawings.

-Assist with the revising of drawings to reflect as-built conditions. 

- Verify and adhere to industry codes, standards, and specifications during the detailing process.

- Identify and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies that may impact fabrication and installation.

- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure seamless coordination and progression of fabrication projects.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting processes, standards, and procedures.


Qualifications:

- Proficiency in SolidWorks Professional 

- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and materials is ideal.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.

- Knowledge of industry standards and codes related to metal fabrication and detailing.

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

- Highly organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in drafting, engineering, or a related field.

- Previous experience as a draftsperson for metal fabrication projects is ideal but not required


Part-time position with a flexible work schedule to accommodate work-life balance.
