Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer


About the Role: Netgroup Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team on-site at VolvoGroup. This role focuses on providing professional expertise in vehicle electrical and embedded software release and configuration management. You will ensure the correct integration of new electrical and electronic systems into the vehicle architecture, with a focus on change control and synchronized software/hardware versions.


Responsibilities:

  • Author or support the development of the Software Configuration Management plan.
  • Recommend tools for the project from the approved range of Change, Release, and Configuration Management tools.
  • Ensure that the Software Configuration Management plan is followed.
  • Administer baselines and changes to them.
  • Perform software breakdowns for Test Objects.
  • Create and maintain Test Objects in the appropriate systems.
  • Report problems related to software integration and support Product Owners with needed information for resolution.
  • Ensure systems/documents and revisions are correctly and uniquely identified.
  • Follow naming conventions.
  • Ensure all Software Configuration Items are stored correctly.
  • Participate in System Specification Baseline Release meetings and Release Board meetings.
  • Ensure Release Notes are created by Component Owners for each release.
  • Administer various Change Records.
  • Provide software configuration status (Document Plan, Defect Report & Change Order status).
  • Chair or facilitate Change Control Board meetings.

Education and Experience:

  • Master of Science in Computer Science or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in commercial vehicle or automotive industries.
