Overview of Polus Capital Management
Polus Capital Management (“Polus”) is a global alternative credit manager with approximately $10 billion of assets across a range of vehicles investing in performing loans, special situations, and structured credit. Polus was launched in 2022 following the strategic combination of two leading European credit managers, Cairn Capital and Bybrook Capital. Polus invests across the capital structure and liquidity spectrum and specializes in combining deep fundamental research, rigorous quantitative analysis and seasoned structuring expertise to identify and unlock value. Job Description
The US Credit Analyst role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in New York City and be involved in building a new US asset management business.
The US Credit Analyst will focus on covering US leveraged loan issuers primarily within CLO investment vehicles. The US Credit Analyst will be an active member of the investment team and be responsible for all aspects of the investment process including investment origination, underwriting, monitoring, and trade recommendations.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify investment opportunities in primary and secondary US leveraged loan markets utilizing deep credit analysis and relative value assessment
- Build detailed cash flow models and develop in-depth knowledge of select industry sectors
- Monitor ongoing credit and market performance to formulate timely trade recommendations
- Develop relationships with sell side analysts and capital markets teams to enhance investment process
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of financial industry experience including credit research, leveraged finance or private equity
- Strong communication skills combined with excellent analytical and financial modelling skills
- Deep understanding of leveraged loans and high yield bonds including issuers, industries, debt structures and legal documentation
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and thrive in a flat team-based environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $200,000, which is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. Base salary for a candidate will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including the candidate’s qualifications, experience, training, education, skills and other job-related factors. Polus reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
