Organization Description:

Behavioral Health is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. Our organization specializes in providing comprehensive psychiatric care, with a focus on residential treatment programs for children and adolescents.


Position Overview:

This is a full-time, on-site position for a fellowship-trained Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The role primarily involves providing psychiatric care to children and adolescents enrolled in our residential treatment programs. Minimal weekend call and weeknight call are required. This employed position offers a very competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including malpractice insurance, health insurance, matching 401(k), paid time off (PTO), and continuing medical education (CME) allowance. There is also the potential for a leadership role, including the possibility of serving as Medical Director.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for children and adolescents in our residential treatment programs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide medication management and therapy services as needed.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision sessions.
  • Provide on-call coverage on a minimal basis for weekends and weeknights.


Requirements:

  • Board Certification in Psychiatry
  • Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
