Construction Manager

Utility size solar experience required

Preferred Skill Requirements & Experience

• NABCEP certification
• Solar construction management experience
• Procore experience & Tech-savvy with Google Apps, MS Excel, Word, and other project scheduling software
• Journeyman or Master electrician certification

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience to include a minimum of 5 years of electrical/solar construction management experience.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills
• Organized and self-motivated
• OSHA 10

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ownership of the on-site aspects of the solar project from NTP to COD.
• Understand the turn-key EPC contract for the solar project and oversee compliance by the EPC Contractor on the project site.
• Work with the team (Engineering, Finance, Quality, Safety, etc.) to ensure project success.
• Serve as the primary on-site representative.
• Provide daily reports and updates to the PM on the construction progress, including quality and safety metrics.
• Provide regular updates to the project's construction to management and external partners.
• Interface with the utility and client representatives on-site.
• Engage with the AHJs and applicable permit authorities to ensure successful issuance and closure of permits for the project.
• Support the PM with scheduling and coordinating the project commissioning and close-out activities.
• Monitor and attend EPC contractors' daily safety meetings to ensure you have knowledge of contractors' activities planned for each day. Conduct site audits as needed to ensure compliance with quality, safety and plan review requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision, maintain own work schedule, but at the same time be able to take direction from the PM
• Possess great attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy
• Maintain a detailed understanding of products and technologies, and specifications used by DGS
• Ability to prepare and present accurate project timelines and expectations to installers and clients
• Individuals must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to represent DGS professionally to clients and outsource installers
• Individuals must be competent enough to understand and interpret OSHA standards, code requirements, and municipality requirements
• Must be able to travel with extended overnight stays. This is a traveling position and will require you to be on-site regardless of project location for the project's duration.
