The Director of Maintenance and Facilities is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of maintenance and facilities operations within the park. This role involves ensuring that all park facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics. The Director will lead a team of maintenance professionals, develop and implement maintenance programs, and collaborate with various departments to support the park's operational goals and enhance the guest experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in facilities management, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and facilities team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
Maintenance Operations:
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all park facilities and equipment.
- Ensure timely and effective repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and enhance guest satisfaction.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper stock management.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of service
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards for safety and quality.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments, including operations, guest services, and entertainment, to coordinate maintenance needs and support park initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with park management regarding maintenance issues, project updates, and resource needs.
Project Management:
- Oversee facility improvement projects, including renovations, upgrades, and new construction, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities management or maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a theme park or large-scale entertainment environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, safety regulations, and building codes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and projects effectively.
- Proficient in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift 25 lbs., and occasionally team lift and or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, kneel, stoop, climb, balance, crouch, crawl, and stand for long periods of time and at elevated heights
