Associates in Tyton Partners’ investment banking practice work as core members of deal teams to enable our clients to navigate the evolving education landscape and to identify where specific risks and growth opportunities are available. As an Associate, you will be actively involved in all phases of an engagement with a key focus on research, analysis and presentation development. You will support deal teams around research and analytical tasks and help produce market-based insights and strategic recommendations. This is an ideal position for a candidate that has previous investment banking experience and is eager to build industry-specific knowledge while working in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.Associate’s primary responsibilities include:Sell-side investment banking assignments which include writing memoranda, building financial models, identifying potential buyers, helping manage the M&A and due diligence process, and driving successful dealsBuy-side investment banking assignments which include identifying acquisition candidates that fit the buyers' strategy, qualifying potential targets, building financial models, helping manage the M&A and due diligence process, and driving successful dealsDeveloping deal marketing presentations and narratives leveraging a combination of sales & marketing collateral, product overviews, and internal company investor materialsMentoring and coaching more junior team members as necessary Desired SkillsSuperior analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, without sacrificing quality or accuracyDrive and energy to work hard and achieve success in an entrepreneurial environment.Strong written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in team-based environmentSolid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminologyProficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)Professional attitude, with a high-degree of flexibility, a client-service orientation and a sense of humorSelf-starter who thrives in producing in a highly dynamic and evolving environment Qualifications3+ years of investment banking, with a significant focus on mergers and acquisitions, and/or 4 years of accounting, with a significant focus on transaction servicesExperience in the education, media or software industry a plus but not a requirementBachelor's degree from a top-tier university with a minimum GPA of 3.5
