Job Description: The company are seeking a skilled Plastic Injection Design and Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the creation and improvement of interior and exterior products using cutting-edge 2D and 3D design techniques. Your expertise will ensure that their designs are optimized for manufacturability, adhering to industry best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers to understand design specifications and contribute to all stages of product development.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software to create comprehensive designs, including surfacing, solids, wireframe, and section views.
  • Develop and release Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as necessary throughout the design process.
  • Coordinate and conduct thorough design reviews, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers to gather feedback and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Provide support for prototype build and delivery processes, ensuring the highest quality and accuracy.
  • Assist in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities to maintain our commitment to excellence.
  • Support the company's programs and certifications, including J-Sox, TS16949, and ISO14001 compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in OEM interfacing.
  • Prior experience in Plastic Injection Part Design using 3D CAD software.
  • Four-year Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.


Requirements:

  • Proficiency in computer usage and the effective utilization of gauges and other design equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a working knowledge of plastics and plastic injection molds.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
