What’s the job?
Saint-Gobain is currently searching for an action-oriented Litigation Paralegal with a collaborative and pro-active management style to join our corporate law department in our Malvern, PA location. The successful candidate will have experience serving as a trusted business partner and a high degree of comfort interacting with business colleagues at all levels within the company, including executive leaders.
What will you do?
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Independently supporting multiple Company businesses and providing day-to-day assistance with all phases of Warranty Claims and Product Liability case management including investigation, trial preparation, tracking, and communicating case-related dates/deadlines and information to the businesses and outside counsel.
- Assisting with document production including reviewing and preparation of pleadings, documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Handling monthly reporting to the businesses on litigation developments and legal spending.
- Assisting in the preparation of answers to complaints, interrogatories, and responses to other written discovery and document production.
- Preparing and managing the investigation and compilation of subpoena and other discovery responses, including communicating with issuing lawyers.
- Utilizing matter management system and maintain case budgets.
- Sending and tracking Legal Hold notifications and identify custodians.
- Collecting and overseeing electronic employee devices on legal hold.
- Maintaining accurate and current records of all aspects of projects relating to tracking, specifications, and chain of custody related to litigation issues.
- Creating and maintaining process documents.
- Tracking the export of electronically stored information to approved third party e-Discovery vendors or outside counsel.
- Working with internal attorneys to conduct client custodian interviews.
- Provide discovery recommendations, plans, timelines and estimates to the responsible in-house attorneys
What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
- Notary commission preferred or willing to obtain commission
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation support role involving product liability/ mass tort and warranty case management either with a law firm or in-house
- Experience managing outside counsel, project management, and discovery processes and technologies for e-discovery
- Knowledge of litigation applications, discovery processes and technologies, including e-discovery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Adept at balancing priorities, multi-tasking, and being agile as situations arise
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including MS Office Suite, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, electronic billing, and ability to learn new software as required.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with others, including outside counsel and vendors
