Litigation Paralegal

Recruiting an experienced paralegal to support a firm in their Los Angeles office. This position assists lawyers and non-attorney timekeepers with preparation of complex legal documents, discovery tasks, analysis of records and creation of damages analysis, deadline management, mid-level legal research activities, trial preparation, and other tasks related to the practice area. Provides leadership in supporting firm, office and team initiatives and in support of management directives.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
College degree preferred.
Paralegal certificate, National Association of Legal Assistants certification or specialty certificate provided by State helpful.
Experience:
Minimum of three years of paralegal or related business experience. Experience preparing cases for trial or arbitration also a plus. Previous experience coordinating paralegal work or case clerks.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
- Intermediate knowledge and application of California Federal, State and Local Rules
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic technological and research skills necessary to pull requested documents from online resources and familiarity with legal technology and computer databases required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to train other paralegals and work efficiently and accurately under pressure, and present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, and vendors.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage and timely meet all internal and external deadlines.
- Ability to work overtime or travel, as needed, on short notice essential. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions.
- Visual acuity needed for transcription, extensive reading and input (typing) of information into computer.
- Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication.
- Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory.
- To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described above, with or without reasonable accommodation.
