Moorecroft is seeking to hire a Principal Data Product Manager the Santa Monica area. Exciting and engaging consulting role in a fast-paced environment. Long-term engagement with potential to extend.
Principal Data Product Manager
Onsite at least 4x per week
Location: Santa Monica, CA
• Lead Data Requirement Elicitation: Engage with business teams, technology teams, data engineers, analysts, and compliance teams to define scope, document PRD, and capture data requirements through stakeholder interviews.
• Strategic Data Expertise: Serve as a data strategist and subject matter expert for content data products, navigating the full data stack to identify opportunities and solve complex challenges.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Product Managers, Program Managers, and Engineering leads to articulate problems and solutions, develop roadmaps, iterate on designs, and ensure successful project execution from inception to launch.
• Product Management Leadership: Oversee daily product management activities for multiple scrum teams, including user story creation, backlog refinement, ticket prioritization, design review, and UAT sign-off.
• Autonomous Decision-Making: Work independently in a large, matrixed organization, taking initiative to simplify and articulate trade-off decisions to both business and technical leadership.
• Extensive Product Management Experience: Bring 10+ years of experience in product management with a strong focus on developing and delivering successful data products and services, particularly within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Big Data and Cloud/Hybrid Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of Big Data ecosystems, with the ability to make informed trade-off decisions while developing end-to-end solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid data tech stacks.
• Media & Entertainment Industry Knowledge: Leverage experience in the Media and Entertainment Industry, particularly in managing content metadata mastering within reporting and analytics contexts.
• Hands-on Data Analysis: Demonstrated ability to work with SQL and explore large datasets for exploratory and analytical evaluations, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
•Leadership and Communication: Present complex data strategies to data-savvy organizational leaders, driving alignment and win-win outcomes for cross-functional teams.
