Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music and a genuine interest in teaching students of various ages and skill levels.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging music lessons that promote student learning and creativity
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Plan and organize musical activities, i.e. organizing performance pieces for students
  • Assess a student’s readiness to join an ensemble
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive learning environments


Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students of all ages
  • Must have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to primary instrument
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson
  • Comfortable working with a variety of personalities
  • Experienced performer (either solo or group)
  • Experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians
  • Ability to interact effectively with children and adults


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field, i.e. Performance
  • Ability to manage student behavior effectively (behavior management)
  • Experience working with students of all ages, including adults
