Job Title: Director of Employee Development
Reports To: Director of Human Capital
Work Location: ONSITE REQUIRED (Savannah, TN preferred- splitting weekly desk time between Jackson, TN & Savannah, TN is an option)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Career Path Development: Manages the hourly employee performance management process up to and including employee reviews, training requirements & continuing education needs assessments. Being hand in hand with the employee working through this process- very hands on & not sit in the office sending emails.
- Employee Retention: Manages compensation/market analysis, succession planning/critical position backup as well as talent gap analysis.
- Talent Acquisition: Assists with creating/reviewing/revising job descriptions, posting & monitoring job vacancies as well as meeting with leaders to best understand critical needs in positions.
- Human Resources: Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for delivering training, creating materials, and interacting with employees at all levels.
- Leadership: The ability to inspire and motivate others & lead by example through servant leadership.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Interpersonal Skills: Building relationships with employees, understanding their needs, and providing support in their development journey.
- Project Management: Skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Creativity and Innovation: Creating engaging and interactive training content that captures the interest of participants.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with various learning technologies and platforms, and the ability to adapt to new software and tools.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address challenges in employee development and create effective solutions.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- At least 5 years experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ADP required.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
