Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager (Level 3) to lead and manage large-scale programs related to fault location, isolation, and service restoration across multiple operating companies (opcos) within the client. The Project Manager will oversee deployment and integration efforts within Minnesota, Colorado, and Wisconsin, coordinating with various engineers, field crews, and other stakeholders. This role requires strong project management experience, proficiency in relevant tools, and a deep understanding of both construction and electrical engineering processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Oversee and drive the deployment of a large-scale fault location, isolation, and service restoration program across various opcos.
  • Coordination & Leadership: Work closely with project engineers and field teams to ensure timely ordering of materials, installation, and integration of devices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Project Tracking & Reporting: Utilize project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Jira, ProPM) to track project progress, resolve day-to-day issues, escalate as needed, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaboration with Engineers: Collaborate with engineers in Minnesota and other regions to ensure successful deployment of devices and integration into the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Maintain strict adherence to project budgets and schedules, ensuring no delays or cost overruns.
  • Documentation & Job Aids: Develop job aids for various departments to access and follow as part of the project process.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate between engineers, field crews, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure materials are ordered and ready for construction and installation.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between different teams (construction, engineering, deployment).
  • Track project progress, resolve issues, and maintain clear reporting.
  • Ensure integration of settings and communication into the Advanced Distribution Management System.
  • Create and manage job aids to streamline project processes.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Project Management Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar programs, preferably in the utility or construction industry.Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with fault location, isolation, service restoration, and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS).Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, etc.) is required; experience with Jira, ProPM, or other project management tools is preferred.PMP Certification: Strongly desired, especially for a Project Manager at this level.Agile Methodology: Experience in Agile project management practices and ability to resolve issues efficiently.Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work with engineers, field crews, and cross-functional teams to meet project goals.


Nice to Have:

  • Prior Industry Experience: Experience in the power or utility industry is highly preferred.
  • Engineering Background: While not required, a background in engineering, particularly in construction, electrical settings, or software integration, would be advantageous.
