Utilities Technician

InDepth Environmental Inc. is seeking a full-time Utilities Technician for their San Diego region of work. The primary candidate will have some experience within utilities, construction, and/or environmental scopes of work. This is a full-time position working out of the San Diego field office with occasional travel for specific projects. The position offers medical, dental, and vision insurance. Life and disability insurance is offered as part of the compensation package. Two weeks paid time off and a week sick leave is provided on an accrued basis on time worked. A company 401K plan is available as well. Raises and bonuses are offered based on personal and company performance. Occasional on-call and/or emergency response needed for projects.
Responsibilities:
Daily tasks include logging daily activities on GIS system, taking and logging daily activity photos, exercise drinking water valves, drinking water samples and chlorine residual readings, water meter reads, water leak detection, gas line leak detection, stormwater filter basket cleaning and maintenance, stormwater system inspections and cleaning, contact with property management clients, relaying immediate repair items found in inspections, reporting non immediate repairs to supervisors, ensuring job site safety, and subcontractor management.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication
- Subcontractor management
- Familiarity of utilities
- GIS experience is a plus
- Ability for on call / Emergency response
- Water certifications is a plus
- Self-motivated
- Can obtain military base access
- OSHA 30-40 Hr safety certified a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Physical demands such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Frequently lifting over 25 lbs.
- Sufficient in hand tool use (i.e. shovel, broom, etc.)
