Evome Medical Technologies Inc (TSXV:EVMT), ‎is a a fully integrated acquisition focused medical device company serving the global injury and surgery recovery (known as recovery science) markets.

 

Job Summary:

The VP Finance will be responsible for directing and overseeing all corporate accounting and finance related activities. Prepare financial statements and other management reports in a timely, accurate and meaningful manner. Will provide financial/accounting information and guidance that contributes to the overall prosperity and efficiency of the organization. Will ensure proper reporting and payment to all taxing authorities and to establish and maintain appropriate internal controls and will play a crucial role in managing the overall operations for Biodex Medical Systems.

Biodex Rehab/Medical systems- is a wholly owned subsidiary of Evome Medical Technologies, Inc., which has been operating in the rehabilitation medical device manufacturing and engineering space for more than 60 years. Located in Shirley NY.

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

1. Direct and oversee all accounting and finance related activities.

2. Hire, develop and manage accounting and finance staff.

3. Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.

4. Direct and execute the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, budgets, forecasts and corporate/sales tax returns.

5. Manage daily corporate cash requirements. Partner with bank representatives to ensure adequate levels of working cash (both short and long-term).

6. Facilitate monthly financial review with CEO and provide highlights to members of the senior management team.

7. Prepare monthly budgets and additional management reports for distribution.

8. Provide accounting/budgetary/process guidance and information to other functional areas.

9. Collaborate with applicable functional areas to supplement or implement changes to financial statements to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting and analysis.

10. Manage financial, inventory and bank audits.

11. Provide documentation to auditors for corporate tax return preparation, which currently includes the filing of sixteen state returns. Review and take responsibility for all returns and ensure proper reporting and payment to all taxing authorities.

12. Review estimated tax provisions for current year and make payments when applicable.

13. Prepare annual budget templates for twenty-one departments. Review budgets and manage processes.

14. Prepare annual rate spreadsheet for variable and fixed overhead.

15. Prepare annual governmental reports.

16. Provide financial decisions relating to corporate contracts and sales orders/bids.

17. Monitor online cash balances on a daily basis, process wire transfers and payroll/flex account transfers.

18. Update and maintain financial statements, schedules and budgets.

19. Prepare various journal entries and account reconciliations.

20. Investigate account or financial statement discrepancies.

21. Upload monthly sales tax reports. Review and approve various sales taxes.

22. Review and code IT expenditures.

23. Review documentation and sign company checks.

24. Review and give final approval for unusual credit requests.

25. Prepare monthly bank borrowings report and quarterly DSCR to ensure compliance with bank loan covenants.

26. Schedule and conduct bi-annual aging and write-off review.

27. Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and learning.

28. Mentor and develop operational staff.

29. Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.

30. Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIAL SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required with a minimum of ten (10) years senior-level management experience in an accounting environment. CPA certified. A strong, working knowledge of Excel and accounting software is required as well as experience in the preparation of corporate and sales tax returns. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
