Summary

Prime Foods, a leading high growth Asian food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead its Bethlehem, PA manufacturing facility. This role will oversee the ramp-up and ongoing operations of our facility in the Lehigh Valley. This role requires a strategic leader with experience as a plant manager in a food manufacturing facility. Experience with new plant start-up, production shift expansion, establishing operational fundamentals, and hiring and training operators is ideal. The plant is currently operating and will be scaling into 2025.


Key Responsibilities

· Ramp-up Management: Oversee the ramp-up of plant operations, ensuring all systems and processes are optimized for increased production.

· Operations Management: Manage daily operations of the plant to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety. Establish and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices. Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement.

· Process Definition and Controls: Oversee the development and implementation of process controls to ensure the consistent manufacture of quality products.

· Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage the first shift operators and other plant staff. Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to the plant team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

· Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Implement quality control procedures to maintain product quality and consistency. Preferred experience with USDA regulations and dough production.

· Continuous Improvement: Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance plant operations and reduce costs. Identify and implement process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

· Health & Safety: Ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Implement and enforce health and safety protocols and procedures.

· Budget Management: Prepare and manage the plant budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Continually monitor to ensure budget attainment.

· Vender & Supplier Coordination: Manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of products.

· Crisis Management: Handle crisis management and provide solutions to operational disruptions.

· Team Engagement & Communication: Communicate operational plans, schedules, and requirements to relevant departments. Lead meetings to inform staff of schedule changes, material shortages, and major events.


Qualifications

· Experience: 10+ years of experience in plant management within a food manufacturing environment with demonstrated success in leading production and driving operational excellence. Experience within commercial baking a plus.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Technical Skills: Strong understanding of food production processes, equipment, and technology, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems. Knowledge of baking a plus.

· Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower employees to achieve common goals. Experience in performance management, coaching, and talent development.

· Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement.

· Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

· Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

· Regulatory Compliance: Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA), quality standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP), and industry best practices.

· Results Orientation: Strong business acumen, with a focus on achieving targets for production output, quality, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

· Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions to improve processes and performance.

· The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, hands-on leader, and collaborative team player, with a passion for food production and a commitment to excellence.
