General Job Description

The Production Shift Supervisors are responsible for supervising the manufacturing team's activities from raw material unloading through film laminating process through winding and packing operations. Following all procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety, assuring internal and external customer satisfaction. Preparation may include managing settings, carrying out tests, and regulating the manufacturing processes to ensure it runs flawlessly throughout production.

Total Quality management is a joint effort of management and associates to exceed customer satisfaction levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring team compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive team-oriented environment to achieve goals. Motivates workers to achieve their highest potential contribution.
  • Involved in interviewing, training, and supervising production employees, including evaluation and basic disciplinary activities. Facilitates resolutions of employee issues.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled formal employee reviews, with routine feedback reviews. Organizes hourly worker overtime coverage.
  • Provides detailed knowledge of the production process in support of the production team.
  • Involved in improvement of operation methods, machines, and product quality.
  • Solves work problems and assesses the training needs of the team.
  • Facilitates operators’ compliance to product specifications and standards.
  • Adjusts team's work plan to meet production schedules, including delegation of resources and workforce.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activities to support production process.
  • Responsible for maintaining records and reports. Regularly reports line status and plant activities.
  • Protect our customers to ensure each product meets established quality standards of zero-conformances.
  • Daily review all applicable quality alerts to keep you informed that a defect has escaped and reduce the risk of a repeat failure while a permanent corrective action is put in place.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to increase efficiencies and reduce the risk of the product being damaged.
  • Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e., Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

12-hour shift, working a “2-2-3” schedule.

Positions available for days or nights (not rotating).

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and write in English or to communicate in American Sign Language
  • The ability to stand up and sit for 8 to 12 hours a day, plus additional overtime as needed.
  • Available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Flexible work availability and able to work overtime as needed on same-day notice.
  • The ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach, and lift to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • The ability to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.

Preferred/Desired:

  • 3 years' experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Need to be able to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuously improving environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along a production line without adverse effects.
  • The ability to work on a team with co-workers close to each other.
  • The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other.
  • Have a powerful desire for personal and professional development.
