Roles & Responsibilities: A Systems Engineer at Evolv I.T. plays a multifaceted role in managing and supporting client IT environments, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and aligned with business goals.

  • Designing and Implementing IT Solutions: Implement IT infrastructure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of clients. This involves assessing client requirements, recommending appropriate technologies, and configuring systems to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Client Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain client IT infrastructures, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization environments. You will also be responsible for configuring and managing client systems according to best practices and industry standards while monitoring client systems for performance, security, and reliability, and taking proactive measures to address issues.
  • Managing and Monitoring Systems: Manage and monitor client systems, including servers, networks, and cloud environments. This includes performing regular maintenance tasks, monitoring system performance and security, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Must be able to work collaboratively with the team escalating complex technical issues to senior engineers or vendors as needed, and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Providing Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to clients, responding to inquiries and troubleshooting technical issues. This may involve diagnosing hardware and software problems, performing system upgrades or patches, and resolving network connectivity issues.
  • Ensuring Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of client systems. This includes implementing security best practices, configuring firewalls and intrusion detection systems, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, and GDPR, by implementing appropriate security controls and practices.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients by providing exceptional service, communicating effectively, and addressing their IT needs and concerns. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic guidance and recommendations to help them achieve their business objectives through technology.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for clients. This includes configuring backup systems, performing regular backups, and developing and testing disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in the event of a system failure or data loss. You will be responsible for testing backup and recovery procedures regularly to verify their effectiveness and reliability in the event of a system failure or data loss.
  • Documentation and Reporting: maintain detailed documentation of client systems, including configurations, network diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures. They also generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Manage IT projects for clients, such as system upgrades, migrations, or deployments. This includes planning and coordinating project activities, managing timelines and resources, communicating with the team and client with updates, and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and industry trends through ongoing learning and professional development. This may include obtaining certifications, attending training sessions or conferences, and participating in online forums or communities.
