A Day in the Life

The Retirement Specialist will handle daily administration of a 401(k) plan and a pension plan, and will provide phone support for customers. This involves processing time sensitive requests for plan distributions, evaluating eligibility for benefits as well as providing administrative support for multiple retirement plans. Processes transactions for monthly pension payroll(s) including balancing earnings and deductions and approving final payroll. Processes the biweekly and monthly 401(k) contributions and balances month-end accounting. This position is also responsible for determining death benefits for the active and retiree populations. This includes all communication with beneficiaries as well as paying any benefits. Skills needed include but are not limited to; organization, the ability to multitask, customer service, and Microsoft Office.
