Position Overview:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing commercial ground-up construction projects. You will manage all project aspects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires effective coordination with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to achieve project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget. Define project objectives, deliverables, and milestones to guide project execution.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control. Provide regular financial reports and address any budgetary issues or discrepancies.
- Schedule Management: Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring that all phases of construction are completed on time. Proactively manage any scheduling conflicts or delays.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets or exceeds project specifications and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and resolve any quality issues.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and manage client expectations effectively.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Address and resolve issues as they arise to keep the project on track.
- Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and compliance records. Ensure all documentation is current and complete.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction, with a proven track record of managing successful ground-up projects.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience managing a diverse range of projects including Office, Medical, K-12, Retail, and Restaurant facilities is highly advantageous.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
