Shift: Day Shift

Position Overview:

The Surgical Technologist will perform the role of scrub person in the Operating Room, ensuring a safe, efficient environment for surgical procedures. Working closely with the surgeon, RN, and other O.R. staff, you will be responsible for preparing instruments, managing supplies, and ensuring that equipment is properly maintained to promote optimal patient safety during surgeries.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation & Setup: Ensure case carts are completed according to preference cards, procuring and preparing instruments and supplies.
  • Communication & Coordination: Clear communication with O.R. staff, sterile processing (SPD), and materials management to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Scheduling & Troubleshooting: Review daily schedules to anticipate and manage potential delays, coordinating with charge nurse and SPD.
  • Resource Management: Manage and delegate duties, including oversight of core phone and coordination of breaks/lunches.
  • Supply Management: Procure necessary supplies and instrumentation for both scheduled and unscheduled surgeries.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military program.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
