Estimator/Preconstruction Manager

Position Overview

The Estimator/Preconstruction Manager plays a critical role in the planning and execution of commercial construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring that project objectives are met efficiently. This position is responsible for collaborating with project teams to develop comprehensive preconstruction plans and risk assessments, paving the way for successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders during the preconstruction phase
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to optimize project budgets
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with other teams
  • Perform risk assessments and identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure compliance with specifications and building codes
  • Oversee the preparation of bid packages and proposals
  • Facilitate meetings to discuss project plans and budgets with clients and stakeholders
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete and up-to-date
  • Stay informed about industry trends, building codes, and LEED standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction management for commercial projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
  • Proficient in project schedule development and management
  • Experience with risk assessment and problem-solving techniques
  • Familiarity with LEED certification and sustainable building practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
