Presently, we are representing a prestigious client in their search for a proficient Financial Planning Analyst to join their esteemed team within the Office of Budget Planning and Institutional Research.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to fulfill the role of Financial Reporting Analyst, pivotal in supporting senior management and diverse university units with budgetary and financial matters. The successful candidate will oversee reporting and analysis of budget and actual data, crafting financial performance forecasting models, and delivering crucial financial insights to optimize performance measures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure alignment of position budget data in HCM with FM funded amounts and assess position funding worklist items for approval.
  • Generate metrics and reports from various financial, budgeting, human resources, and legacy systems.
  • Aid in the annual development and quarterly confirmation process for operating budgets.
  • Monitor and manage the university's budget forecasting tools.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of budget trends, discrepancies, and amendments.
  • Collaborate with university offices and officers to identify funding challenges.
  • Take charge of various analysis and projects, potentially overseeing analysts.
  • Analyze current year activity in central accounts and collaborate with other central support offices for issue resolution.
  • Develop specialized reports, analysis, and presentation materials for executive review.
  • Support university budget presentations as required.


Job Specifications: Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or management.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of accounting and budgeting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and adeptness in team settings.
  • Ability to effectively engage with all levels of senior management, including Provost, Sr. VP, and President.
