Salary: $24-30/hr.

Vaco is assisting a Trussville client looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will support the purchasing department in all procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchases while maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and other procurement documents.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery timelines, and address any issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor details.
  • Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Track shipments, ensure timely delivery, and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with purchasing software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
