Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer

  • Maintain a safe working environment. Understand and follow all procedures (lockout / tag out, hot work, confined space, etc.) in addition to all other corporate and site-specific safety initiatives.
  • Be proactive in the area of safety, including anticipating unsafe behaviors, conditions and unusual circumstances.
  • Make program modifications in PLC’s logic and servo controller logic to improve equipment performance.
  • Maintains automated equipment.
  • Ensures that automated machinery operates safely, dependably, and with precision; identifies and implements modifications to improve safety or performance.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting services for all controls systems.
  • Recommends, develops, and implements enhancements and improvements to increase production volume or precision in high-throughput operations.
  • Maintains documentation of development process, modifications, maintenance requirements, and other data.
  • Maintains knowledge of existing and developing technology and trends in controls.
  • Support cross-functional teams to achieve overall company metrics.
