Senior Purchasing Agent

Responsibilities
- Generate purchase orders to suppliers for assigned projects in a timely fashion and work with suppliers to confirm delivery dates to ensure on-time delivery to our customers.
- Manage trucking and 3PL vendors to ensure accurate as well as timely delivery of finished goods.
- Enter as well as maintain relevant data in the MRP/ERP system per documented purchasing procedures.
- Monitor and provide clear communications to suppliers as to the business requirements and expectations for delivery, quality, customer support, and continuous improvement.
- Work with logistics on shipping arrangements and to ensure orders are closed within the target time frame.
- Resolve 3-way match issues between purchase orders, receipts, and supplier invoices.
- Experience and understanding of contracting and purchasing strategies.
- Excellent understanding of procurement processes which include both materials and contracts management and corporate governance principles.
- Encourage and promote innovation in obtaining procurement objectives.
- Excellent organizational, technical writing and verbal communication skills required.
- Responsible for developing and completing the Project Execution Plan indicating the criticality level of each planned procurement requirement.
- Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required delivery dates.
- Willingness to drive project efficiency and know when to elevate and encourage Team for success.
- Understands Incoterms and associated risk and help mitigate as necessary.
Requirements:
- BS in related field or equivalent combinations of commercial training and/or related experience may be substituted for degree
- Five (5) Years of purchasing or expediting experience in a actuator, valve, machinery, or related environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system
- Experience dealing directly with customers.
- Track record of success expediting purchase orders in times of heavy workload.
