Heavy Equipment Mechanic (SCA) – Stryker Program

Location: Killeen

Travel: Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required

Join our team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic on the Stryker Program and play a key role in maintaining one of the most advanced military vehicle systems in the world You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the Stryker family of vehicles, ensuring they're always mission-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in automotive systems, including engine, transmission, cooling, fuel, exhaust, and suspension.
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on Stryker vehicles.
  • Repair subsystems and components using built-in test equipment (BITE), manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Disassemble, remove, replace, adjust, and reassemble vehicle parts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, both common and unique to different Stryker variants.
  • Accurately complete maintenance forms and paperwork related to your tasks.
  • Utilize technical diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting procedures to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accountability for tools, test equipment, and property.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance (Stryker vehicles preferred).
  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Skills: Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to think strategically and resolve complex issues.
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with turret and related systems, vehicle schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Certifications: Documented trade school, certified technical training, or commercial training required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with GDLS products or military vehicles.
  • Understanding of military terminology and processes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to operate technical systems.

Physical & Travel Requirements:

  • Able to work in both field and maintenance facility environments.
  • Willingness to adjust to changing work schedules as needed.
  • Must meet ASR requirements and maintain access to military facilities.
