Location: Irvine, CA (100% onsite)

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Shift: M-F, 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM, possibility of overtime


Job Description:

The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer can make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.


What does this group do? Our group manufactures latex balloon components used in Critical Care devices. Our MEs oversee the manufacturing process, address nonconformances through investigations, troubleshoot equipment/process, aid in process improvements/efficiencies, support ongoing transfer projects, source and validate equipment/materials.


Specific technology/software used? Minitab, Keyence, Nikon


What will the work schedule be? 12 – 8:30 pm – support all manufacturing needs (equipment, process, materials, etc.). ME are expected to be on the mfg line in the cleanroom as needed and also to collaborate with other teams (Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Engineering, Regulatory, Sustaining Engineering, Receiving Inspection, Warehouse, Buyer/Planner) as needed.


Will there be any travel involved? It may be required to travel to Puerto Rico as needed to support ongoing qualifications there.


What are your top 3 required technical skills? Must haves? NCRs/CAPA, equipment troubleshooting/validations, Process Improvements


Nice to have skills? Technical writing, SPC/CCPs, supplier/material resolutions, Technology Transfer


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 2-4 years of experience required.


Qualifications and Additional Skills:

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Team player and detail oriented.
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
