Overview

Reading Assist is seeking an innovative Recruitment and Marketing Manager to lead our strategy to attract and engage candidates to serve as Reading Assist Fellows (AmeriCorps) and tutors through branding initiatives, marketing, and direct outreach.

The Recruitment and Marketing Manager will be responsible for generating interest and cultivating candidates to apply to serve as AmeriCorps members and/or summer and after-school tutors with Reading Assist. Reading Assist recruits 100+ qualified and diverse AmeriCorps members to complete a year of service providing high-dosage tutoring to students at high-needs schools.

Reading Assist’s strategic ambition is to become the leading regional expert and trusted provider of reading instruction for young, struggling readers. We intend to grow to serve 10,000 students with 90% reaching benchmark in foundational reading skills within one year.

The Recruitment Manager will support our strategic vision by promoting, recruiting and hiring fellows to meet our recruitment goals.


Manager: Director of Talent Acquisition

This position is focused around the following recruitment strategies:

1) Generating leads and applicants through direct outreach to candidates in person or virtually.

2) Planning branding and marketing initiatives and campaigns to attract qualified candidates.

3) Cultivating leads sourced through marketing campaigns to apply to Reading Assist.

4) Developing relationships within college campuses or partner organizations who will champion Reading Assist opportunities to potential prospects.

A successful Recruitment and Marketing Manager is innovative, creative, and hardworking, with a strong working knowledge of marketing and advertising trends and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate should be a team player, willing to work closely and collaboratively with our Recruitment, Instruction, and Operations teams.

Some travel is required using a personal vehicle (if available) to attend recruitment and community events, primarily within Delaware and surrounding states. Some evening and weekend hours may be required to attend recruitment events. This position is based in downtown Wilmington, DE, and candidates are expected to work in the Wilmington office with a hybrid schedule.


Recruitment Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage applicant data
  • Drive recruitment events
  • Execute marketing activities (ie, social media posts)
  • Create Fellow interview schedules and coordinate with program team
  • Conduct Fellow interviews
  • Issue Fellow offers and manage acceptances; coordinate with Program Team to place Fellows
  • Manage Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Regularly evaluate recruitment plans and strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Operations and Instruction teams to stay up to date on programmatic changes and to ensure smooth transition of hired fellows from the recruitment phase to operational support.
  • Assist with other Reading Assist operations as needed, including program support, training, and administration.
  • Identify and explore new pipelines for recruitment and engage prospective applicants, including events, online platforms, direct outreach, and partnerships with high schools, colleges and universities, retiree groups, parent groups, and community organizations


Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

· Minimum of 2 years Experience in recruiting, HR, marketing, or advertising

· Excellent knowledge of branding strategies and recruitment processes

· Excellent creative thinking and communication skills

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to stay up-to-date with marketing and advertising trends in the staffing/AmeriCorps recruitment industry

· Passionate about recruiting high-quality, diverse candidates to serve students

· Enjoy meeting and engaging with new people

· Strong organization skills with ability to support multiple candidates and partnerships at all stages of the recruitment process

· Always seeking to learn, improve, and innovate

· National service experience, such as AmeriCorps or Peace Corps, a plus

· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

· Driver’s license

· Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office programs, and Google-based platforms
