ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY


Associate Attorney needed to join our growing, fast paced law firm in Oakland County, Michigan. We are a full-service real estate law firm that counsel clients on a wide range of real estate and corporate litigation based matters.

Candidates will be expected to be involved in all aspects of:


LITIGATION (landlord/tenant issues, quiet title actions, foreclosure defense, real estate commission issues, and other real estate based matters)

  • Drafting Pleadings, Motions and Discovery
  • Conduct Legal Research
  • Attend Hearings


REAL ESTATE (both residential and commercial)

  • Drafting purchase agreements, land contracts, deeds, easements, mortgages and promissory notes
  • Reviewing closing documents including title work
  • Answer legal questions from Realtors®regarding real estate sales and purchases


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis using various resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and agreements
  • Assist with case management and preparation for hearings, trials, and depositions
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Conduct negotiations on behalf of clients
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to legal matters
  • Meet firm set minimal billing requirements


Skills:

  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of legal administrative procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and familiar with PracticeMaster/Tabs3 billing software
  • Have courtroom experience
  • Experience with litigation is a plus


This position requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar. Prior experience as an associate attorney is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Please send cover letter and resume.
