Job Title: Legal Assistant (Estate Planning)


Location: Northbrook, IL


Our client, a highly esteemed Estate Planning law firm is searching for a meticulous and dedicated Legal Assistant to add to their team in Northbrook, IL. This firm values a keen eye for detail, exceptional levels of organization and the ability to juggle numerous tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate should possess solid prior experience working in a legal setting, primarily with a sound understanding of legal terminologies and procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver full-scale administrative backing to the legal team
  • Compile and manage legal documentation, including wills, trusts, and estate plans
  • Manage correspondence, handle phone calls and liaise with clients while maintaining high confidentiality levels
  • Establish timely communication with clients, court personnel and other lawyers in a professional manner
  • Organize detailed case files and maintain a robust document management system
  • Manage schedules by arranging meetings and appointments for the attorneys
  • Conduct in-depth research and retrieve data when necessary
  • Draft documents, letters and other correspondences as directed by attorneys


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in law, paralegal studies or a field closely related
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or in a similar role; estate planning experience is a plus
  • Comprehensive understanding of legal terminologies and principles, particularly those connected to estate planning
  • Advanced proficiency in the usage of legal software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • A high sense of confidentiality and discretion
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving dexterity
