Location: Onsite-Ridgeland, MS 39157


Based Salary: $50,000 and increases based on funding received.


Job Summary:

The SR1 Grant/Proposal Writer and Community Developer will play a critical role in advancing our organization's mission by identifying grant opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, developing project proposals for community initiatives, and implementing strategies for community engagement and program development. This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and creative professional who can work collaboratively to secure funding and develop effective community programs that align with our strategic goals such as in fields of education, health, technology, and community planning.


Key Responsibilities:

Grant and Proposal Writing:

·      Research and identify grant opportunities from government entities, foundations, and other grant-giving organizations that match the organization's objectives. Additionally, identify opportunities for project proposals that could lead to partnerships, sponsorships, or other funding mechanisms.

·      Develop and submit compelling and high-quality grant proposals and project proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, in accordance with each grant-maker's or partner's preferences.

·      Maintain a comprehensive calendar to track application deadlines, report submissions, proposal presentations, and follow-up activities for both grants and other proposals.

·      Work closely with finance, program departments, and external partners to gather necessary information for both grant reporting and proposal development.

·      Monitor and report on the progress of funded projects and outcomes of submitted proposals, ensuring compliance with grantor guidelines and partnership agreements.


Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management) required; Master's degree preferred.

·       At least 3 years of proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a similar role in a nonprofit or community development setting.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and concise proposals and reports.

·       Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities and understand community needs.

·       Experience in program development, community engagement, and partnership building.

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
