Role: Valuation Associate

Location: Stamford, CT - 5 days in office


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize market color and information from internal and external sources to value CLO, ABS, SRT and other structured products across the firm.
  • Build new and update existing valuation models to calculate fair value ranges for structured products investments.
  • Evaluate prices from third party pricing sources and challenge as need be.
  • Work with the development team to build out and improve daily processes and internal systems.
  • Establish and oversee systematic controls and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency and independence of the valuation process.
  • Preparation of comprehensive valuation reports, presentations, and memos for the valuation committee, senior management, and investors, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • In partnership with risk management, perform P&L analysis and portfolio risk attribution.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market dynamics, regulatory changes, and valuation best practices, incorporating relevant insights into the valuation process and investment strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external valuation vendors and internal stakeholders, including senior management, investment professionals, accounting and legal, ensuring effective communication and alignment of valuation objectives.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the valuation process, leveraging technology, automation, and innovative methodologies to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.


Qualifications:

  • 4 -8 years of relevant experience in credit/hedge fund valuation, investment banking, financial consulting, or a similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of credit - CLO, ABS, SRT and other structured product structures and documents;
  • Extensive experience modeling CLO transactions in Excel
